Ruth graduated in 2002 from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary with a Masters in Marriage and Family Counseling. She has been working with children, teens and adults for over 20 years. She has practiced in a multitude of settings including residential treatment centers, mental health agencies, domestic violence shelters, hospitals, crisis centers and in private practice. Ruth is certified as a Clinical Trauma Professional and as an Integrative Mental Health Professional and is EMDR trained. She utilizes various therapeutic models including Cognitive Behavior Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, wholistic therapy among others. She provides care to individuals struggling with mood disorders such as depression and bipolar, anxiety disorders such as social anxiety and generalized anxiety disorder, trauma induced disorders such as PTSD. Ruth also works with individuals hoping to learn how to manage their borderline personality disorder. In addition, Ruth will also help clients going through major life transitions such as a divorce, death, cancer diagnosis and adoption. Ruth is a member of the American Christian Counseling Association and is competent to provide Christian counseling. Ruth is Licensed as a therapist in Texas and Florida as well as temporarily in California. She has been married for over 25 years, has 3 children, and enjoys spending times outdoors with her family and eating all things potato.
